ASBVs

Australian Sheep Breeding Values are an estimate of an animal’s true breeding value based on pedigree and performance recorded information. Follow the link at the bottom of the page to find out more about ASBVs at Sheep Genetics.

In relation to worm egg counts, ASBVs describe the value of animals’ genes for carrying worm burdens – a combination of being genetically less likely to pick up worms and being better at getting rid of them.

Here at Dawbuts we provide the technical ability to conduct verified ASBV worm egg count results. To participate, though, the sheep you have chosen must have at least an average EPG of 300 prior to commencing.
